This week I'm ranking all teams 7-3 or better (plus the one 7-4 team and the one 6-3 team). Teams are ranked based on record, schedule strength, the quality of opponents in losses, and the margin of losses.

Texas, 6-4, is also included as a basis of comparison,  The Longhorns played a full FBS schedule (no FCS victories) and has four one-score losses against a tough schedule. Teams that are ranked ahead of Texas are probably actually really good; teams ranked lower are iffy.

NOTE: TCU and Michigan switched spots from last week due to schedule strength; TCU beat 6-3 Texas while Michigan beat 3-6 Nebraska. That doesn't explain all about the schedule strength, but it's significant.

NOTE 2: Alabama's high ranking is due in part because it hasn't yet played its FCS opponent. The Tide is playing Austin Peay, which will add nothing to its schedule strength. Alabama may very well lose its position next week.
