Salvation is freedom from worry

Lesson 177 (Review)

God is but Love, and therefore so am I. (ACIM, W-177)

1. (163) There is no death. ²The Son of God is free. (ACIM, W-177.1:1-2)

2. (164) Now are we one with Him Who is our Source. (ACIM, W-177.2:1)

Since I read and wrote about these lessons, I received the idea from other metaphysical and mystical sources that the fear of death is the motivating factor for virtually everything in our lives.

In one sense, the fear is about the unknown: "what happens when we die." But it's more than that. It's about judging ourselves and fearing the judgment of others. That we hadn't spent our time in this world very well, or that others will think we had unfulfilled or unproductive lives. We fear regret.

Salvation is the freedom from worrying about past regrets or death. Or any kind of worrying. It really is freedom itself, free to be happy and joyful in the present moment.
