Welcome to Daily Miracles, a running commentary on the 365 lessons of A Course in Miracles, an influential spiritual text from the 1970s. I am James Leroy Wilson and I invite you to join me as I go through this material for the first time.
Lesson 151
All things are echoes of the Voice for God.
Today's lesson reminds me of Genesis 3.
4 But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not die, 5 for God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God,[a] knowing good and evil.” 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that it was a delight to the eyes and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate. 7 Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked, and they sewed fig leaves together and made loincloths for themselves. [Emphasis added]
It also reminds me of John 7:24. Jesus is quoted as saying "Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.”
You can't make sense of what the senses tell you. The woman in the Garden was deceived by what she "heard" from the serpent, and by the "evidence" of her sight. There's nothing evil with being naked, but when you seek wisdom through the senses, you could be led to such a nonsensical conclusion.
Wisdom comes from the Mind, God's Mind, which is your Mind. "⁴So will you see the holy face of Christ in everything, and hear in everything no sound except the echo of God’s Voice."
