Lesson 152
The power of decision is my own.
A Course in Miracles isn't cosmology or ontology. It's not about the first cause of "objective reality" or the paradox of seemingly true but contradictory (and human-made) ideas.
The Course is about psychology. It's about well-being. It's about choice. It's about the choice to see the good and to feel good at this moment, or to see the bad and to feel bad. It's the choice of being in heaven or hell at this very moment.
You are free to choose. Some believe it is their obligation to suffer in this world, and they will. Some will see life on Earth as a struggle or a competition, and so it will be for them. Still others will see this life as a never-ending series of duties and obligations, the fulfillment of which they call "virtue," of which we all fall short due to our own sin. And so life will be that way for them.
But they can all change their mind right now, make a different choice right now, and create a happier universe for themselves.
They're free to choose.
