LESSON 133

I will not value what is valueless. (ACIM, W-133)

Every day on YouTube, Barry Peterson reads “A Few Moments With God” by Erin Michelle Galito. As with A Course in Miracles, the messages allegedly come from Jesus and are channeled through Galito.

The messages often remind us to embrace love, joy, peace, laughter, and all the good things. They are from God. Whatever feels good is at a higher vibration and is good. These are the eternal things. They can be had at any time, regardless of one’s financial situation, physical conditions, or relationship status.

Worldly things such as money, health, and romance might provide the illusion of happiness but they are actually the source of stress and anxiety. Even people who are intellectually aware that, say, “money can’t buy happiness” still want money because they don’t want to worry about money. Likewise, they don’t want to suffer chronic conditions. They don’t want to feel lonely or unloved.

But such worldly things come and go. They arrive then disappear. Worrying about them can bring up the temptation of “taking a thing away from someone else.” (ACIM, W-133.7:1)

However, “Who seeks to take away has been deceived by the illusion loss can offer gain. Yet loss must offer loss, and nothing more.” (ACIM, W-133.7:4–5) “When you deny his right to everything, you have denied your own. (ACIM, W-133.7:2)

Taking away from others creates more worry about whatever worries you.

But if you let go of worry and choose the eternal things, the “Kingdom of God,” then you have nothing to worry about. The things you really want — love, joy, peace, etc. — will be “given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33)
