How to eliminate flawed thinking

Welcome to Daily Miracles, a running commentary on the 365 lessons of A Course in Miracles, an influential spiritual text from the 1970s. I am James Leroy Wilson and I invite you to join me as I go through this material for the first time.

Review IV Introduction theme: My mind holds only what I think with God. (ACIM, W-rIV.in.2:2)

Today’s Review::

(121) Forgiveness is the key to happiness.

(122) Forgiveness offers everything I want. (ACIM, W-141)

A friend recently said that every morning when he looks in the mirror, he sees all his flaws and then goes about the day fearing that’s all people see in him.

His only flaw is that he thinks he has flaws. That’s my only flaw as well. And yours. Even if my friend was only talking about his physical appearance and didn’t think he’d win a beauty pageant or be hired to model at a fashion show, that doesn’t mean he has flaws. No more than Shaquille O’Neal has “flaws” because he likely won’t pass an audition for the Lollipop Guild.

Forgiveness is love, and love doesn’t see flaws. It sees what is good in people and desires that they feel good about themselves.

If I see flaws in myself, I’m saying that I am somehow not who God made me. If I see flaws in others, then I’m saying they aren’t as God made them.

But how can that be?

“My mind holds only what I think with God.”

Does God think you have flaws? Does God think you were created by someone else?

Forgiveness is the remembrance of who we are. We are as God made us.

Let us rejoice and be glad!
