Welcome to Daily Miracles, a running commentary on the 365 lessons of A Course in Miracles, an influential spiritual text from the 1970s. I am James Leroy Wilson and I invite you to join me as I go through this material for the first time.
Lesson 107
Truth will correct all errors in my mind. (ACIM, W-107)
This was another tough lesson for me to process:
³Where truth has entered errors disappear. ⁴They merely vanish, leaving not a trace by which to be remembered. (ACIM, W-107.1:3-4)
Is that true? Truth may remove errors in oneself, but if the errors in the mind led to mistakes in the world that hurt someone else, who in turn made more mistakes in reaction, have we all forgotten the whole thing just because I found the truth?
Would teachers of the Course never mention the mistakes of their past and how the Course helped them? Don't they remember their errors?
That said, I do like what immediately follows:
And so they [errors] disappear to nothingness, returning whence they came. ⁷From dust to dust they come and go, for only truth remains. (ACIM, W-107.1:6-7)
That's a reference to Ecclesiastes 3:20 of the Bible. Speaking of humans, it says,
All go to one place, all are from the dust, and all turn to dust again.
This lesson is equating errors to our own bodies: they are illusions that will disappear soon enough. Only truth is eternal.
