What is God's will?

Welcome to Daily Miracles, a running commentary on the 365 lessons of A Course in Miracles, an influential spiritual text from the 1970s. I am James Leroy Wilson and I invite you to join me as I go through this material for the first time.

There is no will but God’s. (ACIM, W-74)

We were urged in our practice periods to dwell on this thought and related thoughts: ²There is no will but God’s. ³I cannot be in conflict." (ACIM, W-74.3:2-3)

I turned it into: "My will and God's will are one. We are in alignment."

I think I did this because to think about "no conflict" is really to think about conflict.

And I ended up thinking: "My will is to feel good. God's will is for me to feel good."

As I had written on Lesson 50: "What is the love of God for me, but the desire that I feel good? What is self-love, but the desire that I feel good?"

Then it occurred to me that my will and God's will is always for me to feel "better" that is, to ever feel more goodness in every area of my life. Worries, grievances, and other unreal thoughts caused by illusions disappear as I feel that goodness grow in me.
