The NBA MVP CHASE WINNER!

Photo: Public Domain

The NBA regular season is now complete, and it's time to announce the winner of the NBA MVP Chase. It was selected from players who had a Hollinger Player Efficiency Rating of 20+ for the season and determined by:

Number of games won in which the player's Game Score plus +/- equalled 30 or more.

NBA MVP voters have a ballot in which they rank their top five choices. Although I listed the top 20 in the MVP Chase, only the top five would be on my ballot if I had a vote. I listed the top 20 because I wanted to use the same list for my MVP Chase All-NBA teams..

Although my MVP ballot ought to reflect the final tally (because I'm right), my All-NBA teams shouldn't be taken as seriously. The MVP Chase is intentionally biased toward players on winning teams, because helping the team win is what "valuable" should mean. The All-NBA teams, however, are for the best players, even if they're on awful, losing teams. I created these NBA teams just to see how they compare with the NBA's official All-NBA teams.

In addition, whereas the official All-NBA Teams are now positionless, I chose to fill out my teams by position.
