Lesson 173

God is but Love, and therefore so am I.

1. (155) I will step back and let Him lead the way.

"Following" is often denigrated. "Are you a leader or are you a follower?" 

Well, the path of a follower is the path of non-resistance. It is the path of effortlessness. And what we're following is Love itself. Love doesn't resist and love doesn't force things to be "just so." Surrendering the Reason of one's ego to God's Love means to be where Love is. 

2. (156) I walk with God in perfect holiness.

To be holy is to be whole. A donut that "walks with God" is aware that it's perfect the way it is. A donut that doesn't walk with God might see another pastry that has no holes in the middle and might perceive within itself an imperfection or incompleteness.

That donut is following an illusion, imagining it has a hole that needs to be filled. Everyone else, however, sees the donut as perfect.

Remember that you were created whole. You have no holes.
