Welcome to Daily Miracles, a running commentary on the 365 lessons of A Course in Miracles, an influential spiritual text from the 1970s. I am James Leroy Wilson and I invite you to join me as I go through this material for the first time.
Lesson 147
My mind holds only what I think with God.
(133) I will not value what is valueless.
(134) Let me perceive forgiveness as it is.
Even those who say "Money can't buy happiness" still want money because they think money will purchase some sense of relief. In other words, just about everybody wants money so they don't have to worry about… money.
The same is true of what money buys. People who shop at discount stores are made fun of. People are often judged by the year, make, or model of their car.
But are more expensive, higher-quality products really that valuable to you? Is a new luxury car really that valuable to you?
If so, what do you really value?
Is there any value in anything except relationships? Relationships based on love and forgiveness?
Forgiveness is the recognition that nothing in this world has real value but our relationship today, in the here and now.
