Welcome to Daily Miracles, a running commentary on the 365 lessons of A Course in Miracles, an influential spiritual text from the 1970s. I am James Leroy Wilson and I invite you to join me as I go through this material for the first time.
Lesson 156
I walk with God in perfect holiness.
The great mystery of spiritual paths like A Course in Miracles is the question of evil and sin. If they don't really exist, where did these ideas come from?
Perhaps it's found in concepts such as growth or completeness. Or an idea that involves contrast or comparison. The kitten is perfect but shall be a "fully grown" cat. The kitten is similar to the cat in many ways, but the differences will invite comparisons: "Well, the kitten isn't as good at climbing trees."
All the contrasts and comparisons create preferences, which leads to thought processes like "better" and "worse," or "good" and "bad." Or, "good and evil."
But how is the kitten not perfect? How is the adult cat not perfect?
You may be different from other people, but you are still perfect and holy. For there is no other place you could have come from but perfection.
