Who wants you to be happy?

Lesson 166

I am entrusted with the gifts of God. (ACIM, W-166)

God "gives without exception, holding nothing back that can contribute to your happiness." (ACIM, W-166.1:4)

"God’s Will does not oppose. It merely is." (ACIM, W-166.10:1-2)

Imagine having a very wealthy friend who says, "You're always welcome to stay with me."

Instead, you stumble around through life. Trying new things, hoping to find happiness and excitement. Striving to prove that you can "do it on your own." Trying to leave a mark on the world, wanting to be significant. And the more you strive, the farther behind you get.

But your pride tells you that you can't go live with your friend.

Even though that's the only opportunity there ever was, in a friend whose only will is your happiness. 

Perhaps it's time to go back to your friend. Perhaps it's time to go back to God.
