Welcome to Daily Miracles, a running commentary on the 365 lessons of A Course in Miracles, an influential spiritual text from the 1970s. I am James Leroy Wilson and I invite you to join me as I go through this material for the first time.
Lesson 146
My mind holds only what I think with God.
(131) No one can fail who seeks to reach the truth.
(132) I loose the world from all I thought it was.
The tagline for The X-Files was, "The truth is out there."
There are so many mysteries, anomalies, conspiracies, and conspiracy theories in this world I see. I'm not sure if "the truth is out there." The inexplicable, unexplained, and unexplainable are out there.
I personally place quite a bit of my attention on the unsolved and unknown. But it seems as if whatever is behind the veil is a seemingly worthwhile piece of information that raises more questions, and we find another veil. New bits of information are accompanied by more veils.
I don't think the truth is "out there."
Do you believe murder is wrong because someone "out there" told you? What if your teachers on morality were, themselves, murderers and thieves?
Would that change your opinion on killing and stealing?
Or do you know, internally, that you shouldn't murder or steal?
The truth is in you. You won't find it in the world.
