Welcome to Daily Miracles, a running commentary on the 365 lessons of A Course in Miracles, an influential spiritual text from the 1970s. I am James Leroy Wilson and I invite you to join me as I go through this material for the first time.
Lesson 144
My mind holds only what I think with God.
(127) There is no love but God’s.
(128) The world I see holds nothing that I want.
To love is to see the good in, that is to enjoy, someone or something. There is nothing not good and nothing not enjoyable.
"The world I see" isn't God's world. It seems filled with plenty that isn't enjoyable at all. Even if in some sense the "good" outweighs the "bad," even if there are more pleasures than pains, minds are filled with the possibility of the bad or the painful. We hope we "have a good run" but think all good things must come to an end, overcome by the bad.
The world I see is "all bad things" and the world of God is "all good things."
That's why there's nothing in the world I see that I want. Everything is bad or will become bad.
In reality, however, it is "all bad things" that must come to an end because the world I see isn't the real world.
Only the good is eternal.
