Here are my college football rankings for the games played after Week 3. The system is a simplified +/- point system based on margins of victories, controlling for runaway scores. Victories against (lower division) FCS teams are not rewarded at all, while losses to FCS teams are punished.
This judges a team's overall body of work for the season so far. It's not "unfair," for instance, that I had Michigan #1 last week but not this week after the Wolverines won. I haven't punished them; in fact, they gained a point from last week. It's just that Ohio State gained more.
