Welcome to Daily Miracles, a running commentary on the 365 lessons of A Course in Miracles, an influential spiritual text from the 1970s. I am James Leroy Wilson and I invite you to join me as I go through this material for the first time.
It is impossible to see two worlds. (ACIM, W-130)
In the popular 1980s television series The Facts of Life, the opening line of the theme song is:
You take the good
You take the bad
You take them both and there you have the facts of life
The facts of life
Today’s lesson questions that assumption:
It is impossible to see two worlds [love and fear, or good and bad] which have no overlap of any kind. ²Seek for the one; the other disappears. ³But one remains. ⁴They are the range of choice beyond which your decision cannot go. ⁵The real and the unreal are all there are to choose between, and nothing more than these. (ACIM, W-130.5:1–5)
My favorite Shakespeare line is from Hamlet, ‘“There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.”
As you align with love, of oneself, of others, of the world, you’ll see the good in everyone and everything. Only love is real; the “bad” is only in your thoughts.
And you can change your thoughts at any time.
