Gratitude

LESSON 123

I thank my Father for His gifts to me. (ACIM, W-123)

Two days ago we were told "Forgiveness is the key to happiness." (ACIM, W-121)

Yesterday, "Forgiveness offers everything I want." (ACIM, W-122)

What flows from forgiveness, such as peace and joy, are the gifts the "Father" brings us. The things of the material world mean nothing if one is besieged by regret, grievances, and anxiety. Through forgiveness, what seems imperfect is made perfect, and what seems broken is made whole. 

The gratitude expressed today is in recognition that the illusion has been replaced by the real. We are thankful that we are free.
