Welcome to Daily Miracles, a running commentary on the 365 lessons of A Course in Miracles, an influential spiritual text from the 1970s. I am James Leroy Wilson and I invite you to join me as I go through this material for the first time.
Today's review:
(75) The light has come. (ACIM, W-88.1:1)
(76) I am under no laws but God’s. (ACIM, W-88.3:1)
I think Lesson 75 is saying that once you've "seen the light," you can't unsee it. Once you understand the truth, you can't choose an illusion.
Lesson 76 is saying that anything not from the light, not from the truth, isn't a law. In my original comment on Lesson 76 I mentioned "rules of thumb" that we may use to go through this physical experience. The phenomenon called gravity is something we can hardly imagine life without. We comply with society's rules to avoid getting into trouble.
But if "anti-gravity" is possible, then gravity isn't a law. If the cops arrest you, it's not really for breaking a law, it's for breaking a civil statute. Statutes can be changed, so they're not really laws either.
The "laws" of science are based only on limited perception and understanding. The "laws" of the State are based on fear. Both try to embed in us the belief that some things are impossible.
But in light, truth, and love, anything is possible.
