Welcome to Daily Miracles, a running commentary on the 365 lessons of A Course in Miracles, an influential spiritual text from the 1970s. I am James Leroy Wilson and I invite you to join me as I go through this material for the first time.
I am upset because I see something that is not there. (ACIM, W-6)
The examples given for the exercise are:
⁴I am angry at _________ because I see something that is not there.
⁵I am worried about _________ because I see something that is not there. (ACIM, W-6.1:4-5)
In another newsletter I am reading through the Bible, one chapter a day. I noticed that in Genesis Chapter 2 that the man and woman in the Garden of Eden were naked and not ashamed. But in Genesis Chapter 3 they partook of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, saw that they were naked, and tried to hide from God because they were afraid.
In their nakedness, they saw an evil that was not there.
This was after they tried to "improve themselves" by seeking wisdom. They just created problems for themselves, problems that weren't really there.
This lesson is as old as Scripture.
