Welcome to Daily Miracles, a running commentary on the 365 lessons of A Course in Miracles, an influential spiritual text from the 1970s. I am James Leroy Wilson and I invite you to join me as I go through this material for the first time.
My meaningless thoughts are showing me a meaningless world. (ACIM, W-11)
And apparently we are getting to what "miracles" mean:
This is the first idea we have had that is related to a major phase of the correction process; the reversal of the thinking of the world. ²It seems as if the world determines what you perceive. ³Today’s idea introduces the concept that your thoughts determine the world you see. ⁴Be glad indeed to practice the idea in its initial form, for in this idea is your release made sure. ⁵The key to forgiveness lies in it. (ACIM, W-11.1:1-5)
³The introduction to this idea, in particular, should be practiced as casually as possible. ⁴It contains the foundation for the peace, relaxation and freedom from worry that we are trying to achieve. (ACIM, W-11.3:3-4)
I get a sense this is about release from the sense that life happens "to" you and embracing the idea that life happens "from" you or "through" you.
In other words, your thoughts about the world, what you "think" the world is telling you - for instance, about what you must do, ought to do, and not allowed to do - are meaningless. You are therefore released from them. You don't have to dwell in those thoughts, and you certainly don't have to conform to them.
