The Nov 6 New Yorker has a story on Robert Greene, author of The 48 Laws of Power. This prompted me to look for the 48 laws, and quickly found them here.
It seems to me they can be boiled down to three:
1. Be cool.
2. Learn persuasion skills.
3. Know your enemy's weaknesses and plans.
All the 48 laws follow from one or more of the above three laws.
