Where was conservative disapproval of Bush two year ago? It was quite clear by 2003 that by any standard Bush was an incompetent and irresponsible President. Conservatives should have challenged Bush in the Republican primaries. They then should have defected to the Libertarian and Constitution Parties. Had conservatives done ANYTHING in late 2003 and early 2004 to undermine Bush, the Democrats would have also acted differently, and the anti-war movement would have been emboldened.
