Coming to my attention via Dappled Things, is news that several mega-churches are not having services on Christmas, even though it's on a Sunday.
Can you imagine Troy Aikman and Joe Buck refusing to broadcast the Super Bowl because they'd rather go to a Super Bowl party with their family and friends? This is like that, only worse.
In the past two years, some obnoxious Christians have been whining about "Happy Holidays" being said instead of "Merry Christmas." They act like "Happy Holidays" is a new p.c. thing, when we all know that it's been said for generations. Nevertheless, I find it ironic that at the same time some Christians are seeking to put "Christ back into Christmas," other Christians are taking him right out.

It's interesting to me that the mega-churches are the ones doing this. Further proof that once any organization gets too big - government, business, whatever - it completely loses touch with the important things.
ReplyDeleteFind a nice little church to celebrate Christmas morning, shop at a mom-and-pop store, and agitate for limited Constitutional government. Merry Christmas!
