Sidebar changes

I don't know how other people construct their blogrolls. Mine is for not only blogs that I visit regularly, but also root for. (There are a couple that I visit that I don't root for and don't link to.) That doesn't mean I agree with the bloggers all of the time, or even most of the time. Some of them have diameticrally opposing worldviews with each other, but have hearts for a more peaceful and tolerant world. I also want it to be small enough to be manageable, but if you read Independent Country and link to it on your own blog, let me know and I promise to link yours here and also read yours regularly.

That said, I don't want to be embarrassed by my links, either.

And I was, today. By Andrew Sandlin's CCL Blog. A few years ago Rev. Sandlin wrote some things I really liked at the now-defunct Razormouth site. We had some friendly e-mail exchanges, and I thought for a while that I shared his worldview. But he's staked his future and Christian vision on the electoral success of the Republican Party, and I just can't go there, or even be sympathetic to those who do. If it comes time to "shoot the bastards," Christian Right Republicans would be among the bastards. Plus, it takes unique circumstances, or a unique style of blogging, to disallow comments on your posts. But it seems to me that Sandlin just doesn't want to deal with critics.

So I'm kicking Sandlin off my blogroll. He can speak to his own audience, but I'm no longer a part of it.

Also, I've added the Alex Jones Prison Planet site under "News & Opinion." It may require a lot of faith to believe in conspiracy, but logically, it requires even far more faith to believe what you've always been told. How do you know that the New York Times is more legit than Pravda? A libertarian who trusts the mainstream is no libertarian at all.

  1. I have a list on blogroll, where you are featured, but I am too stupid to figure out how to get this on my blogspot blog.

Not many people regularly check or give a darn about the content of the blogs they link to. Good for you that you do. Everyone should be so discriminating.
