For me, if I were to enter into a sham marriage (or a sham "civil union") for the purpose of some economic convenience, I'd prefer to do it with another straight guy than with a woman. The sham marriages already existing for health insurance and immigration purposes will balloon if the number of prospective partners will automatically double.
