As I wrote two weeks ago:
Pope John Paul II helped destroy the Soviet Empire peacefully. Let's hope his successor may do the same to the American Empire.
Benedict may be 78, but that's not as old as it used to be. He may just be the man to, peacefully, destroy President Bush and the imperialist corporate fascism of the GOP.
And if Catholics abandon the Republican Party, it's screwed.
