If an alliance could be built between libertarians and the American Left - an alliance I think is crucial in resisting the Torture Party, the bridge that makes it happen will be Henry George. He was once as celebrated as Mark Twain, but his movement died with him and pro-inflation populism, proto-fascism, and Marxism has defined American liberalism ever since.
