On Tuesday, January 31, 2006 Roanoke Times (http://tinyurl.com/3a3zzo ) reported that HB (House Bill) 1572 died in subcommittee. The bill would have given college students the right to carry handguns on campus. VIRGINA TECH spokesman Larry Hincker was HAPPY to hear the bill was defeated. "I'm sure the university community is appreciative of the General Assembly's actions because this will help parents, students, faculty and visitors feel safe on our campus.", said Mr. Hincker OF VIRGINA TECH.It goes on to state how a student last spring (Spring 2005) was "disciplined" for bringing a handgun to class, despite having a concealed handgun PERMIT!
and another from Linda Dorfmont:
Did anyone notice that nobody got shot after the Killer was shot? And the guns were still there….and loaded, too. Other than the fact that some fleeing students could have tripped over the guns, they were just lying there on the ground doing nothing. They would continue to do nothing until they were picked up by someone who could be another Killer. Until that happened everyone was safe. Killers kill people.
