Congressman Cunningham leaves office for taking bribes.
I have no doubt that he is guilty of what he's accused of, and probably far worse. But I also have no doubt that a bunch of the people in D.C. are guilty of the same and worse. Which makes me wonder, what did he really do to upset the Godfather?
Or is he just a ritual sacrifice - a scapegoat - chosen at random to try to fool us into thinking that in our system, corruption is rooted out and punished?
