O'Connor Wanted a Female Replacement

That's what's been broadcasted. Diminishes one's respect for her (even further). Who should care?

Actually, I like the fact that Roberts has argued 39 cases before the court, winning 25. (And who knows, maybe his client was in the wrong in several of the losses. No doubt, the Court was wrong on some of them.) That would have qualified him even if he never served as a judge.

Besides, this will give Janice Rogers Brown a year or two of federal court experience before she gets promoted. Better a "first black woman" than "first Hispanic" if that Hispanic is Alberto Gonzalez. Might as well be Pinochet.
