Not really, Americans live in a place called denial. We all know that Iraq was not behind 9-11, we know that Iraq was not a threat. However, if we speak these truths and admit our blood lust we can no longer look at ourselves as innocent. Before 9-11 the world saw us as noble, although not very worldly innocent idealist. Now they see us as out of control fanatics. If we voice the truth about Iraq, we fear that we will see in the mirror what they see looking in the glass.
